The Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d’assurance automobile du Qu\u00e9bec (SAAQ) is a government corporation whose mission is to
mandate, in particular, to insure all drivers, passengers, pedestrians and cyclists who
are involved in an accident on the public network, whether or not they are at fault
of the accident.

There are certain exclusions (non-exhaustive list) for which compensation is not paid.
not granted:
– An accident that occurs during a show or a race;
– An accident with an off-road vehicle or a farm vehicle on a piece of land
private;
– An accident that occurs with a motorized personal vehicle, except if a vehicle
covered by the plan is involved;
– An accident that occurs during the maintenance, repair or modification of a product.
